Yeah it does. If you want to get high accuracies then the first thing you should learn is not to swing unnecessary.

P.S. If you want to end up with a higher score per minute (with the knife), hold your medic hub or defib.

I hate noobies that walk in circles all the time, I can't hit them :S

Having lots of rubs isnt good for your accuracy either.

Swinging your knife without hitting anyone can be useful. For example, if you swing your knife when close to a good knifer, he/she comes charging towards you, usually. You can use that by walking backwards a bit and kill him/her.
Very useful against the not-hyperactive pro's ^^
